Normal unadulterated water in the morning is ok.

Hi - I found getting the OH to bring me something to eat in bed before getting up to be v. helpful - something to do with blood sugars apparently - I'm nearly 18 weeks and still threw up this morning cause I didn't get up till 9 and didn't try eating till I was upright (darnit! I've been otherwise fine since 16 weeks). Vegemite/Marmite on toast did the trick really well for me and occasionally honey on toast (and I discovered after that Vit B can be helpful for stopping the nausea). Also - I can really really recommend those sea sickness bands for general nausea during the day - really allowed me to function rather than just crawling off to bed. Hope some of these suggestions might work for you :)

try lemon fanta. amelia LOVVVVEED it, and little sips of it early in morning delayed the first throw up, altho it was an all day and all night thing with her in the end. but something about the fizz helped sooth the pain from long dry retching periods . . . happy happy joy joy.

Almost every person I have talked to (slash complained at!) about nausea has recommended the seabands, so I think that's definitely going on the shopping list.

I think it's a blood pressure thing as well Mel - my biggest problem seems to be my BP plummets, so I feel faint and then my heart starts racing and ... bleurg! That's worse than the random food reversals, that's for sure.

Ruth - Maybe it's the sourness thing too? I'm going to try lemon & honey drinks and see what they do, if anything. I caved and bought preggy pops from Egg (seriously, $9.95 for 6 lollipops!) - they're all sour flavours, but seem to do something to head the nausea off. Although, at that price, phew for the moment that he seems to be perfectly happy to leave me be, more or less, once he's made me hiff!
